Yes I’ve been away a lot and it’s kind of because of this song in some existential alternatively paralell kind of way.
Basically, when life happens, blogs don’t.
Actually it’s more like when too much life happens blogs don’t.
I really shouldn’t be writing this now because I have a midter tomorrow and am basically fucked in all sorts of ways.
FUCK.
Anyways, this song was in the top 20, it’s brilliant. I love it and it makes me think of awesomeness.
Hopefully more to come soon.

Sex Drive opens next week! Go see it! It’s fucking hilarious!
Oh, Clark!
You are such a Lark!
But seriously, the stressful morning trying to get to Angels & Kings on time totally paid off when I got to spend half an hour interviewing Clark Duke (a name I didn’t know until last week, mind you).
He was a pleasure, a delight and oh so much fun.
Things I learned:
He loves Michael Chabon.
If he were an X-men he’d be Cyclops so he could be just as handsome as Jimmy Marsden.
He has perfectly toned dancers legs.
He read a lot of C.S. Lewis as a kid.
He likes Girl Talk and is working on his turn tabeling (what would be the correct verb?).
He can’t read a book or watch a movie without analyzing it and thinking about the work behind it.
He was thrown out of one of his classes because his Professor called on him and he said, “I’m sorry I’m actually not taking questions today.”
Of course there were many more wonderful things, but you get the point. I have to write this article so I’ll talk to you when I’m less busy. Looooveeeee!!!!!
GO SEE SEX DRIVE!
and go to clarkandmichael.com!
It was his thesis. It’s this super hilarious show he made with his bff Michael Cera.
More Love,
Alessandra
I thought of another song to supplement the song of the week but I just can’t remember… long live college… I know I won’t after what I’ve been doing to myself… good night?

So as to stop The Keg influence I decided to pick the song of the week before any night time festivities and make it a legitimately good song.
After marvelling at their latest masterpiece, I went back to the basics and happened upon a delectable favorite. Every element of “Hang Me Up to Dry” is magnificently done and stands together briliantly. From the varying tone of the vocals to the steady bass to the chaotic piano its another one of those encumbering songs you just get lost in. The fabulous lyrics are easy to relate to as well and as I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned before I’m kind of a sucker for well done metaphors. Enjoy the magic!
I don’t really know how these work. Everyone always has these random hook ups and I just can’t comprehend it. Not that I’m opposed to the fun in it I just have never been in a situation where that would happen. Or maybe I have been and have avoided it.
Here’s my theory. When I go out I like to say hi to everyone. I guess I like to make my presence known which I hadn’t really thought about until this minute. Anyways, even if I’m having fun with someone I feel like if I spend too much time with them I’ll miss out on talking to other friends of mine who happen to be out. Thus, I don’t spend enough time with potential hook ups. This could be a good or a bad thing… at least I won’t get into any trouble, right?
I’m currently at the Daily office because it has become my life. I guess it’s a good experience. Go me. I am very tired and will probably make bad decisions. Oh well. As I type this I feel very monotone. Imagine Daria is saying these sentences. I feel like if I said something it would sound like that. I need to take it easy this weekend but that probably won’t happen. So sad for me. I should prob do my journalism homework right now so I guess I’ll get to that.

I just thought I’d clarify something. In Evanston, skipping is illegal. Hence when I said “skip illegally” I was being completely serious. Other things that are illegal in Evanston are bowling, trick or treating, drinking in public and fun.

“She’s So Lovely” by Scouting for Girls is such a good song and I really want it so I can illegally skip down the streets of Evanston listening to it. I would understand if it just hasn’t made its way to the US yet but both iTunes and Rhapsody have the karaoke version of it. WTF? How can you have the karaoke version of a song you don’t have. That’s just silly… and annoying. For now I will have to be content with posting it here and then once iTunes gets a copy we can all go get it… because I’m a ninja not a pirate and I don’t download music illegaly.

So it looks like the growing trend in songs of the week is whatever song I enjoyed the most at The Keg. This week I danced to “When I Grow Up” with one of my new friends after some Red Bull entered my system. The same Red Bull that I “quit” 4 months ago. Oops… such is life. Maybe we’ll change it up next week but for now here’s my favorite Keg song of the week!

Got out of the Daily early and had a chance to look through my new Rolling Stone and there was a fall music preview full of many albums I hope to own very soon. What am I the most exited about?
5.Snow Patrol- A Hundred Million Suns
Release date: 10/28
Here’s the first single, “Take Back the City.” There’s cool cosmic imagery in it and I think this album is veryyyy promising.
4.Oasis- Dig Out Your Soul
Release date: 10/7
This is “Falling Down.” I’m so psyched for this! It’s been three years since we’ve had a new Oasis album so this should be quite stellar! Oasis has one of those sounds that you get lost in. In case you can’t tell, I live for that shit!
3. Kaiser Chiefs- Off With Their Heads
Release date: 10/28
This is the new single “Never Miss a Beat.” I think it could be one of their best singles yet although I really do love “Modern Way.” Anywho, if this song is anything to go by, this album should be siiiick!
2. Fall Out Boy- Folie a Deux
Release date: 11/4
“I Don’t Care” is already a huge song and the video is awesome. Fall Out Boy has this adorable way of making fun of themselves and everyone else in the process. And they definitely are the most underrated overrated band right now. Look out for Sarah Palin in the video!
1. The Killers- Day & Age
Release date: 11/25
I absolutely adore The Killers. Their Sam’s Town tour is definitely one of the best concerts I’ve been to second to maybe The Red Hot Chili Peppers (and The Roling Stones, but I was 9 so I don’t remember it that well). Anywho this is the first half of the first single, “Human.” If this album tops Sam’s Town, it should be like a musical orgasm.
It should be one hell of a fall. Look out for album reviews shortly after release dates!
Also, I’m goign to see The Kooks in two weeks so there should be a nice review after that!!
