As Fall Quarter is practically at a close (maybe that’s just wishful thining but I’m pretty sure we’re almost there), and I still have not managed to figure out a way to come up with clever thigns to post on a regulr basis, I’ll at least talk about music every now and then, if only briefly.
Jezebel is a graciously slow heart-breaking ballad whose words aren’t as sad as the melancholy strings that go with them.
“Wait! We swear we’ll love you more and wholly, Jezebel.”
He sings in his raspy half whisper and breaks my heart every time. I now have a weekend of emotional breakdown to associate this song with which is always pretty awesome and now it can be the sad little not-really-a-love song that hangs around in my speakers and in my head whenever I need to wallow… which I do more than a healthy person should. Anywho, enough of my babbling, here it is.
It’s almost too good to be true. Florida didn’t fuck up, and Obama is our new president. It’s so crazy that we’e actually expiriencing history right now. This’ll go down in text books and our grandchildren will read about it and think wow that must’ve been so crazy! They’ll then ask what were you doing when Obama became president? I bet your answer won’t be as great as mine.
As i was filling out my absentee ballot I began to wonder how the fuck do stupid people vote? Some of these legislation referendums and whatever the fuck they are (i don’t pretend to know anything about politics) are worded so fucking weird I had t read them, like 50 times!
Honestly, I’m educated. I can read, but I had to read two sentences over and over so I could be sure I was voting AGAINST and amendment that limited marriage to being between a man and a woman only.
Now here’s the scary part. I know there are people less educated than I am in this country and it really scares me that they have a say in these issues.
I mean maybe they make up the 50ish% of the potentia voting population that doesn’t vote but I’m sure some of them do.
I really have no where else to go with this because I’m sleepy and need to talk to freshmen girls for 5 hours tomorrow so I’m going to bed now.
