I just thought I’d clarify something. In Evanston, skipping is illegal. Hence when I said “skip illegally” I was being completely serious. Other things that are illegal in Evanston are bowling, trick or treating, drinking in public and fun.

Every young collegiate’s dream may finally come true. College presidents are proposing that the U.S. lowers the legal drinking age to 18. Not surprisingly, this is kind of controversial.
I was once completely in favor of lowering it. It’s only logical that if you are legally considered an adult you should be able to order a fucking drink!! Plus, if drinking weren’t considered such a big deal, teens and young adults wouldn’t feel the urge to drink til they pass out, throw up or die.
But the numbers don’t lie. Stats show that since the drinking age was changed to 21, drunk driving accidents were cut in half. That’s huge.
While I’d love to go out like the adult I am, it’s definitely not worth the lives of thousands of potential victims. Society is stupid and it sucks, and I honesty don’t think we can even get the binge mentality off college campuses anyways. It’s too ingrained in the social scene. I mean, what would awkward chem majors do without it?
I guess frat parties and fake IDs will have to do for now.
